The Liquid Lounge

Design Inspiration
The Liquid Lounge is meant to bring joy, be interactive and provoke your mind.  Its design was influenced by high fashion, iconic architects, and postmodern designers of the 1980s and each piece was carefully chosen to be experiential.  We were also inspired by elements of the Memphis movement which took ideas from Art Deco and Pop Art and brought them to life with bright colors, abstract geometric shapes, and bold patterns.

Highlights
As you enter the room there is a rose-colored Bryan Sideboard by Jean De Merry on the far wall.  Above it is a large digital art display created by Liquid Canvas. The work is based on a painting by Bay Area artist Lauren McIntosh with intricate hand animated sequences that bring movement to the piece and transform the static painting into an animated work of art. This is a ”must see” piece of work.

In the right corner of the room sits a custom sectional inspired by French designer Christopher Delcourt and upholstered in Mark Alexander fabric.  In front of this lies the “U & I” coffee table designed by Birnam Wood Studio in collaboration with jewelry designer Suna Bonometti.  The walls above have two mixed media pieces by artist Ryan Bucko. Ryan’s work has dual themes of iconic architecture contrasted with the unbridled energy of abstract art.

Next to the stairs is a DJ station with a turntable hanging from the ceiling on an acrylic table and stadium seating below. On the wall behind it are three 11-ft. tall pieces of art, each with lyrics hand cut on paper from The Beatles; Crosby, Stills, and Nash; and John Mayer.  The lyrics chosen are rhythmic and healing words of inspiration by artist Chris West, @chriswestprojects.

Cala Mezcal

Design Inspiration
Cala Mezcal offers its guests an immersive escape from quotidian life.  There is a nightclub vibe to this room and Guests are transported to a romantic Mexican coastal bar. It is the perfect place to unwind with friends and spend an evening in relaxed revelry.

Highlights
Guests are immediately enveloped in a deep desert haze with the smoky, handprinted mural of agave plants and palms by Caroline Lizarraga.  The Arden Home Banquette, in dark rose – with its angled white table by Stephen Antonson – is a focal point.  Soak it all in, but do not miss the Halo LED light fixture hanging directly above by Cliff Hersh.

Once you are seated at the banquette, you will be mesmerized by the Digital Media Art of Danial Canogar. His piece, called “Amalgama,” is composed of imagery from significant visual artists across time. A transformative algorithm liquefies these images into a mercurial blend that partially abstracts the original images. It is unforgettable!

The Bar Area features an imaginative mix of wood and steel materials with a backlit semicircle shelving system. But it gets better! When you go to sit down for a drink at the bar’s counter you will encounter “Shakira”, a be-jeweled , black and white, kingsnake also painted by Caroline Lizarraga.
